How to skip, pause or cancel Home Chef

Cancel online in 3 steps, by 12 PM Central on the Friday before your delivery week. Cancelling does not stop your first order: for that, contact Home Chef’s support team. Miss the cutoff and the next box still ships and is charged: about $47.94–$59.94 for three dinners for two at full price, plus shipping.

Cancel Home Chef

  1. Log in, click Account at the top right and open the Account Settings tab.
  2. At the bottom of the tabs on the left, choose to pause your subscription: Home Chef calls cancelling “pausing”. In the app: Account, My Settings, then Pause My Account.
  3. Give a reason and carry on until the cancellation confirmation screen. A confirmation email follows.

Home Chef writes 12 PM CST on the Friday before your delivery week; your upcoming order shows the exact time. Keep the confirmation email or screen until your next delivery date has passed.

Then add a weekly reminder to your own calendar.

Skip one box

  1. Log in and open Your Upcoming Orders.
  2. Scroll to the week you do not want and click Manage Delivery.
  3. Choose Skip This Week’s Delivery. A confirmation email follows, and the week is marked as skipped.

Skipping removes that one delivery; your plan carries on with the next one on your schedule.

Pause for longer

  1. Follow the cancel steps above. Before you confirm, choose a restart date if you want deliveries to start again on that date.
  2. Leave the restart date empty to stay stopped until you reactivate.

Home Chef’s pause is its cancellation. To remove a restart date you have already set, reactivate your account, then pause again without one.

What happens after the cutoff

The upcoming order is fixed after the menu closes. The amount above is Home Chef’s stated $7.99–$9.99 a serving × 6, before shipping and tax; $7.99 is its lowest advertised dinner price, and its help page puts Standard meals from $9.99; its $50.95 minimum order includes shipping, so you pay at least that.
