Where SNAP works online
SNAP benefits can be spent online only at stores the USDA has authorized for its online purchasing program, which now runs in all 50 states and the District of Columbia; the USDA’s page lists the stores taking part in each state. Buying the groceries for a recipe from one of them is the nearest thing to a kit you can pay for with SNAP, and the meal kit vs groceries calculator prices a kit’s dinner against the same groceries.
If the cost is the question
The full price of every service shows what three dinners for two cost after the first-box deal, and is a meal kit worth it weighs a kit against your own groceries. Some services also take prepaid cards: Sunbasket accepts ones that carry a major card’s logo, while HelloFresh and Gobble say they do not take prepaid cards.
